Annabelle Awaits!

Meet Annabelle!

Annabelle is the cutest and stockiest girl I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! This girly is about 4-5 years old and is extremely mellow and calm. I mean, look at the photo below… I’m talking caaallllmmmm!

This angel is so sweet and friendly, and she gets along well with dogs (but a doggy intro is required prior to adoption). This gentle girl is definitely a lover not a fighter <3. But is also not above giving some serious side eye haha!

Annabelle is a resilient pup. She didn’t have the easiest start and the shelter thinks that Annabelle was purely used for breeding purposes :(. AB (Annabelle obvi) is still having a rough time at the shelter. She is understandably shy and scared and she needs our help finding a forever home!! We know Annabelle can fit in with basically any household because she is SO easy to love.

If you are looking to make a short, stocky, ADORABLE addition to your family, Annabelle is your girl!! Annabelle is at MCACC West (2500 S 27th Avenue PhoenixAZ 85009) and her ID is A3977572. Spread the word and let’s get this girl out of the shelter and into a home. Annabelle Awaits!!

Twink-T.

HEY-O….Twinkle Toes is in da housseeee (actually, he’s in the Shelter…but that didn’t have the rap-type ring to it I was looking for):

When I first met Twink-T I thought to myself, “what the H kind of name is Twinkle Toes?” But then, I started posting all sorts of nicknames for him and have now realized his name was a gift from the creativity gods. G-R-A-Z-I-E (I was in Italy for 12 days – for work, so my Italian is pretty much fluent now.  JK on that too…you just saw the one and only word I know).

ANYWAYS, Twinkle Toes is honestly the ISH. He is super loving and gentle, plays nicely with others, (obviously you should still bring your dog in for an intro to make sure Fido at your house likes Twink) and he is all around a really delightful K9 companion!

At One Love Volunteer Orientation last weekend, Twinkie T tried to intervene and run the orientation himself:DSC_0036

Richard shut his efforts down, and sent him to the side to be adored by current volunteers (Richard doesn’t share the spotlight well):

Twinkle Toes got his name because he has one white toe nail on each front paw….and they totally twinkle.  So, his name is descriptive. BUT, before I knew that, I thought he got his name because he pranced around like a dancer (which I witnessed as he happily hopped across the room during orientation!).

Twink attended his first One Love Shelter Dog Training class last week with his new pal, Heather:

LOOK how cute they are together!!!! The best part is that he already has amazing leash skills (anyone with a dog like mine knows that having a dog with leash skills is truly a dream come true!). Twinkie is super food motivate and got DOWN on some of that fancy home-cooked chicken that Heather brought for training treats!  He kicked A at all aspects of training even the agility exercises!  Such a smart fella!

TT has done well with other pups in playgroup but we definitely suggest a dog intro prior to adoption!

This Is What Dreams Are Made Of

Hey now, hey now… this week’s PAL is Dream, and she really is what dreams are made of! Hopefully you understand the musical reference (Spoiler: It’s from the Oscar-winning film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie…Sing to me Paolo!)

Dream is a white and tan American Pit Bull Terrier and is estimated to be about 7 years old. This girl has been at MCACC East for WAY TOO LONG – since April 27, 2017 :(. But, everyone who meets Dream says that she is perfectly named because she is just that, a dream <3. I mean, first of all, just look at that sweet face!!

Dream gets along great with humans (kiddos too!) and she is super affectionate and sweet. She loves to make people happy and give them kisses. Dream gets playful and silly but still has moderate energy. She is super fun but is also pretty low key (she is what we call a #DreamGirl). She enjoys taking walks and walks well on a leash. Oh, most importantly, she is pint sized, which if you have been reading our blog you know that pint-sized pups are our FAVORITE (EEK!!!)!

Dream has seen real progress while out of her kennel at play groups. Initially, she was NOT about dog socializing and preferred solely human interaction, which is weird because I only prefer dog interaction ;). But, she is in the midst of a major transition. She has been attending small, controlled play groups and has been doing well! At first she only got along well with calmer male dogs but recently has been hanging out closer to male and female dogs in the play group. She has even recently played with a younger pup! While she is not “dog social” we do not necessarily believe that she requires being an only dog. However, a doggy intro is required prior to adopting Dream!

We all know the saying “Good things come to those who wait” and we are hoping that good great things are on the horizon for this cutie pie. She has so much love to give and we know whoever adopts Dream is the luckiest person alive! Dream is at MCACC East (2630 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa, AZ 85201) and her ID is A3925658.
